Connect VestmentPulse to Claude or ChatGPT
Manage your portfolio by talking to an AI assistant — ask what you own, or add an investment without opening a form.
Talk to your portfolio
You can connect VestmentPulse to an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT. Once connected, you can ask about your portfolio in plain language, or add to it without filling in a form.
This uses a standard called MCP (Model Context Protocol). You don't need to know anything about it — it just means assistants that support it can talk to VestmentPulse securely, using your own account.
What you'll need
- A VestmentPulse account
- An AI assistant that supports custom connectors. Claude supports this on paid plans; ChatGPT support depends on your plan.
Connecting
Your connection address is:
`
https://www.vestmentpulse.com/mcp
`
You can also copy it from Settings → Connections.
In Claude
- Open Settings → Connectors
- Click Add custom connector
- Paste the address above
- Sign in to VestmentPulse when prompted, and approve the permissions
- Open Settings → Connectors
- Click Add
- Paste the address above
- Sign in to VestmentPulse when prompted, and approve the permissions
- See your portfolio — your investments, policies, income sources, and dashboard totals
- Add to and update your portfolio — create investments, policies, credit cards and income sources, set your freedom target, log payments you've made or received, and record the latest figures from a statement
- "What's in my portfolio?"
- "How much passive income am I making each month?"
- "How far am I from my freedom number?"
- "What percentage of my paycheck am I putting toward investments?"
- "Add a $50k note at 12% paying $525 a month"
- "I get paid $3,200 every two weeks and want 40% going to investments"
- "Here's my Penn Mutual statement — update the policy" (paste or attach it)
- "The Smith note paid $525 today"
- "Is there anything I need to do?"
- VestmentPulse never gives an assistant your password.
- Access is granted through a standard sign-in flow, and can be withdrawn at any time.
- Connections expire on their own if unused.
- Approving on one assistant doesn't grant access to any other.

What you're approving
When you connect, VestmentPulse shows you an approval screen. It asks for two separate permissions:
These are separate on purpose. An assistant with only the first can look but not touch.
An assistant can never delete anything. It can read, create new records, and update the numbers on records you already have — a new cash value from a policy statement, a new card balance, a payment that came in. Every update keeps history: a policy statement becomes a dated snapshot you can see in the app. If it records something wrong, you can change or remove it yourself.
You'll also see which app is asking and where approving will send you. If either looks unfamiliar, deny it.
What you can ask
Once connected, try:
For anything that writes, the assistant should confirm the numbers with you first. Check them before you say yes — it's your real portfolio.
Disconnecting
Go to Settings → Connections. Every app you've connected is listed there with a Disconnect button.
Disconnecting takes effect immediately. The app loses access straight away, and any access it was holding stops working.
You can also disconnect from inside Claude or ChatGPT by removing the connector there. Doing it from VestmentPulse is the surer route — it works even if you no longer have access to the assistant.

Troubleshooting
The assistant says it can't add anything. It probably only has read permission. Disconnect it in Settings → Connections, then reconnect and approve both permissions.
It can't see something you just added in the app. Ask it to check again — it reads live data, but may be working from what it fetched earlier in the conversation.
The connection stopped working. Reconnect from your assistant's connector settings. If it still fails, disconnect in Settings → Connections first, then add it again.
